Depart either Sydney or Melbourne on Vietnam Airlines. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport in the arrival hall by your Local Guide. You will transfer to your hotel and check into your room. Remainder of day and night at leisure.

Discover the sights of Hanoi today. First stop will be Ba Dinh Square, then visit outside Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum. Wrap up an exhilarating cyclo ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter with a strong Vietnamese coffee at a café overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. This evening takes a culinary adventure, sampling street food in the Old Quarter for dinner. B,L,D
DAY 3: Halong Bay
Drive four hours today from Hanoi to Halong, where you will take an overnight cruise to the far-most corners of the bay by boat. Enjoy lunch on board as you cruise out into the bay, stopping to anchor for an afternoon of activities. Sightseeing includes visiting underground caves on the islands. End the day on deck with a drink in hand to watch the sunset over the bay followed by a freshly prepared dinner. B,L,D
Hotel: Bai Tho Junk (Deluxe room ) or similar
Spend the morning sailing through Halong Bay. After an early lunch (or brunch) disembark your cruise and return to Hanoi. Here you will have an early dinner before transferring to the airport for your onward flight to Danang. On arrival transfer to the charming town of Hoi An. B,D
Hotel: Rosemary Hoi An (Deluxe Balcony) or similar (4 nights)
This morning head to the local market where you will pick up fresh produce for your cooking class at the Red Bridge cooking class. You will enjoy the dishes you have just cooked. In the afternoon, enjoy a light walking tour of Hoi An’s centre, including one of Hoi An’s oldest homes, the Quan Cong Chinese Temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Also visit the Reaching Out Arts and Crafts Workshop. B
Day of Leisure. B
You will be transferred to the local fishing village. Walk through the village and learn about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families and their community. Board the Hoi An Eco-Tour boat and cruise on the Cua Dai River. Experience the art of catching fish by using local round nets. More fun by paddling a unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boats and joining in a basket boat race on the river. Row your basket boats back to the Hoi An Eco-Tour boat. Enjoy a cold beer or soft drink and a traditional fisherman’s meal. [Local meal] B, L

This morning visit Notre Dame Cathedral, the Reunification Palace, the chilling War Remnants Museum and the bustling Ben Thanh Market. Confront the reality of guerrilla warfare at the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi experience can be emotional for some visitors, but it offers a fascinating window into the hardship and traumas of war. Sightseeing involves two hours on foot on uneven mud paths and, if you choose, crawling through some of the tunnels. B, L
Meet at the Sofitel Plaza hotel in Saigon for the transfer to My Tho, located 70 kilometers away. The transfer includes a stop at the Cholon Market and visit to a lacquer factory. Arrival in My Tho and welcome on board the RV MEKONG PRESTIGE II. Lunch on board. Departure in the afternoon. B, L, D

Arrival at Cai Be in the morning. After breakfast we take a morning junk trip around Cai Be to visit a floating market and go ashore to see the French Gothic Cathedral. Take a stroll along the river bank and visit a local manufacturer producing rice paper, and coconut sweets. Return to the ship for lunch. Cruise past Vinh Long Province to arrive at Sa Dec for an afternoon walk. Visit to a Caodaist Temple and stroll through the colourful local market. B, L, D
Arrival at Tan Chau in the morning, a remote town on the main Mekong River. After breakfast, transfer on small boats to visit a fishing farm. We go ashore to visit a local workshop producing woven mats and visit a silk weaving workshop. A rickshaw ride round this fascinating town takes you back to the pier for lunch. Depart for the Cambodian border. Evening cruise up the broad Mekong River to Phnom Penh. B, L, D
Arrival in Phnom Penh in the morning. The capital city of Cambodia still retains its old French colonial architecture in riverside streets. Visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. The National Museum is another highlight. Lunch on board. Afternoon excursion to the former High School, converted to a detention center under the Red Khmer’s rule between 1975 and 1979, followed by a visit to Wat Phnom after which the city was named. Dinner on board. Traditional Khmer Apsara Dancing Show on board. B, L, D
Early morning sailing from Phnom Penh to Chong Koh or Oknathey (both located in Silk Island). Visit this silk weaving village for a morning walk at leisure and a visit to the local workshop. The excursion includes a visit to a Pagoda and a meeting in a primary school. We cruise past the Mekong’s timeless villages and River life with extensive fishing activities. Return to Phnom Penh and afternoon at leisure. Dinner on board. B, L, D
Morning journey upriver heading towards Oudong. Arrival at Prek Dam in the early afternoon. Excursion by coach to reach Oudong. Visit Vipassana Dhura Pagoda, a place of meditation for Buddhist Monks. Then on to Kampong Tralach. Return to the ship by ox-drawn carriage. B, L, D
Morning sailing on the Tonle Sap River, which connects the Mekong River to the Tonle Lake. Arrive at Kampong Chhnang. This is a busy rural port town with bustling markets. Then board local boats to visit the authentic floating village. We go ashore to stroll through the scenic market. B, L, D
We cross the lake early in the morning* (Please note that when there is low water, the transfer to Siem Reap will be made by coach or speed boat). The great lake dominates Cambodia and is over 150 km in length, with interesting and varied bird life resulting from the varied the water levels in the lake and river depending on the time of year and rainfall. Disembarkation after breakfast and transfer to Siem Reap. The guide will meet you at the drop off point in town and transfer to hotel for the check in. In the afternoon visit Banteay Srei and Pre – Rup Temple. B, L,

Spanning from the 9th to 15th century, the Angkor complex with over 1,000 temples was the seat of the thriving Khmer Empire. UNESCO manages the complex and to enter, your group will drive approximately six kilometres out of town to the main entrance gate to get your entrance passes, which you must carry with you. If you choose to climb at any site, you must be able to climb and descend without assistance. Begin at the city of Angkor Thom and the enigmatic Bayon, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, before continuing to the temple of Ta Prohm, enveloped in a labyrinth of jungle. This afternoon is devoted to the fascinating and awe-inspiring Angkor Wat. B,L
Today explore the less visited Beng Mealea, a mysterious temple completely overrun by the jungle where you will explore on foot for approximately an hour and half. You will visit Chong Kneas floating village. Return to Siem Reap via a Cambodian artistry assembly before arriving back at your hotel this evening. Enjoy dinner while watching an Apsara dance performance. B, L, D

Price: the advertised price is in Australian dollars. No surcharges in regard to cost or currency fluctuations will be made once deposit is received. This guarantee excludes fuel surcharges and does not apply to any taxes, charges or levies imposed by any government or its agencies. No discounts are applicable. Price includes transport, entrance fees as per itinerary, plus services of a Travel Director and Driver and meals as specified and is subject to minimum numbers being met.
Booking, Deposit & Final Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $750.00 per person is due within 7 days of booking. Full balance is due no later than 01 November 2019.

Tour itinerary adjustments: We reserve the right to alter the itinerary including sightseeing, schedules, hotels, and other tour inclusions to accommodate unforeseen circumstances or events beyond our control.
